13.1.4 Function Overview of MG-PRI/PRA
To maintain high-quality network, MG-PRI/PRA supports network-efficient management features. The follow-
ing describes some of them.
Virtual LAN (VLAN)
When a network is flat (one broadcast domain), the larger the network becomes, the larger number of the
packet collision occurs. To avoid the traffic congestion, Virtual LAN is used to make logical groups like
subnet and broadcast domain in one physical network by setting VLAN ID, which helps to streamline pack-
ets and avoids degrading connection quality. As another function of the Virtual LAN, service priority (data)
can be created by using Class of Service (CoS), which controls an amount of traffic data per MG-PRI/PRA.
