Syntax
save config [filename]
filename
Defaults By default, WSS Software saves the running configuration as the configuration filename used
during the last reboot.
Access Enabled.
Usage If you do not specify a filename, WSS Software replaces the configuration file loaded during the
most recent reboot. To display the filename of the configuration file WSS Software loaded during the most
recent reboot, use the show boot command.
The command completely replaces the specified configuration file with the running configuration.
Examples The following command saves the running configuration to the configuration file loaded during
the most recent reboot. In this example, the filename used during the most recent reboot is configuration.
WSS# save config
Configuration saved to configuration.
The following command saves the running configuration to a file named testconfig1:
WSS# save config testconfig1
Configuration saved to testconfig1.

set boot backup-configuration
Specifies the name of a backup configuration file to be used in the event that WSS Software cannot read the WSS's
configuration file at boot time.
Syntax
set boot backup-configuration filename
filename
Defaults By default, there is no backup configuration file.
Access Enabled.
History Introduced in WSS Software Version 4.1.
Name of the configuration file. Specify between 1 and 128 alphanumeric
characters, with no spaces.
To save the file in a subdirectory, specify the subdirectory name, followed
by a forward slash, in front of the filename. For example:
backup_configs/config_c.
Name of the file to use as a backup configuration file if WSS Software
cannot read the WSS's configuration file.
