    ™ 2430 Multiservice Access Switch supports a broad array of primary and backup connectivity devices. This guide refers to the Passport 2430 Multiservice Access Switch as the Passport 2430. If you want to upgrade your router by adding more DRAM, you can install a 16 or 32 MB single inline memory module (SIMM).

    In addition to the shelf kit shipping contents you will need a Phillips screwdriver. Installing the SIMM You install a SIMM in the Passport 2430 with the following steps: Turn off the Passport 2430. Take the cover off the chassis.

    Upgrading Memory in the Passport 2430 Multiservice Access Switch Removing a SIMM To remove a SIMM currently in the Passport 2430: Pull the tabs on either side of the SIMM as shown in Figure 5. The SIMM pops up. VLK0058A Figure 5.
  • Page 10 Upgrading Memory in the Passport 2430 Mutiservice Access Switch Inserting a SIMM To insert the SIMM: Position the SIMM so that the notch on the SIMM lines up with the socket key on the SIMM slot. Gently push the SIMM into the slot as shown in Figure 6.
