The options in the Data Encoding menu are listed below as they
appear on the message display:
DATA ENCODING
ASCII* (ISO 6937, ASCII, EBCDIC-SNA, EBCDIC-DSC or IBM
PC)

Line Ending

The Line Ending menu item, if enabled, does the following:
AUTO CR - automatically adds a carriage return (CR)
character when it receives a line feed (LF) character.
Check the user manual for your host computer or application
software to see if a carriage return is sent automatically at the
end of each line.
Note:
If the characters are being printed on top of one another
at the far right of the page, your host computer is probably not
sending an automatic carriage return.
CR and the printer will insert a carriage return.
