The guidelines governing pad binding are:
Portrait orientation, with space provided on the top, short

edge of page 1 and the bottom, short edge of page 2 (front
and back of the same page) to allow for binding.
Landscape orientation, with space provided on the top, long

edge of page 1 and the bottom, long edge of page 2 (front
and back of the same page) to allow for binding.
Portrait
The first printable data on a page determines page orientation.
The 2-Sided Print Mode menu item options are listed below as
they appear on the message display:
2-SIDED
DISABLED* (DISABLED, BOOK BINDING or PAD BINDING)
Note: If you are sending 2-sided commands from the data
stream, you must set this to DISABLED.
