Operating the CiPress User Interface

Print Line Selection

If more than one print line is defined, you can select another print line for the job.
Note
Changing the print line requires a restart of the CiPress . Also, a restart of both CiPress
Printers is required to change between simplex and tandem configurations.
Caution
When running in dual simplex, the system does not prevent selection of two print lines
(one including the primary / upstream CiPress , the other including the secondary /
downstream CiPress ) where both include the same PPE. It is the responsibility of the
operator to ensure that conflicting PPE assignments are not made between print lines.

Overriding a Run View Print Line Selection

Using the Print Line menu, you can change the current print line selection. Doing this
will override the Print Line selection previously set in the Definition view.
1. In the Run view, select the arrow on the Print Line menu.
The list of available print lines displays.
2. Select a new print line from the menu.
A warning dialog box displays.
3. Select Yes.
The CiPress restarts and when the restart sequence is complete, the newly-selected
print line becomes the current selection on the second line of the Print Line menu
and also appears in the print line components display.
Note
An event documenting the print line change is logged in the Run view Event Log
Table.
Note
If you select No in response to the warning message and opt not to change the
CiPress , the message closes and the Print Line menu reverts to its previous print line
selection.

Image Offset Setting (Optional)

You can adjust the distance of the print image frame from the sheet edge, in inches or
mm, on the front or back side of the paper.
Locate the Front Side Offset / Back Side Offset area under the view icons. This is where
you designate the front and back side offset values.
A common use for the image offset is to designate a distance of .25 inches to offset the
image from the paper edge of perforated stock.
