1. Remove any font or emulation cartridges from the printer.
Note: Font or emulation cartridges should be removed any
time you prepare to remove the system controller board.
2. Switch off the printer.
3. Follow steps 1 to 6 in the installation instructions for
removing the system controller board from the printer.
4. Locate the SIMM boards on the system controller board (J11,
J12, J13, J14, and J15) (refer to figure A5-9).
Note: In order to prevent damage to the system controller
board, the SIMM boards must be removed in ascending
order, J11 first and J15 last.
For example, if the SIMM board to be removed is J12, J13,
J14, or J15, the preceding board(s) must be removed first.
