Syntax
ip host name address
no ip host name
• name—Host name (Range: 1-158 characters).
• address—IP address of the host. For information about specifying an out-of-band IP
address, see the user guidelines.
Default Configuration
No host is defined.

To define an Out-of-Band IP address, use the following format: oob/ip-address.
Example
The following example defines a static host name-to-address mapping in the host cache:
Console(config)# ip host accounting.dell.com 176.10.23.1

clear host

The clear host privileged EXEC command deletes entries from the host name-to-address cache.
Syntax
clear host {name address|*}
• name—Host name to be deleted from the host name-to-address cache (Range: 1-158
characters).
• *—Deletes all entries in the host name-to-address cache.

This command has no default configuration.
