If the pathcost method is long, the default configuration is:
Ethernet (10 Mbps) - 2,000,000
Fast Ethernet (100 Mbps) - 200,000
Gigabit Ethernet (1000 Mbps) - 20,000
Port-Channel - 20,000

User Guidelines
This command applies to all spanning tree instances on the switch.
If the short method is chosen, the default cost value is in the range of 1 through 65,535.
If the long method is chosen, the default cost value is in the range of 1 through 200,000,000.
Examples
The following example specifies the long pathcost method.
Console# spanning-tree pathcost method long

spanning-tree mst priority

The spanning-tree mst priority global configuration command configures the device priority for
the specified spanning-tree instance. To return to the default setting, use the no form of this
command.
Syntax
spanning-tree mst instance-id priority priority
no spanning-tree mst instance-id priority
instance-id—ID of the spanning -tree instance (Range: 1-15).
priority—Device priority for the specified spanning-tree instance (Range: 0-61440).
Default Configuration
The default bridge priority for IEEE STP is 32768.
