Example
The following example adds a description to the Ethernet g5.
Console(config)# interface ethernet g5
Console(config-if)# description RD_SW#3
speed
The speed interface configuration command configures the speed of a given Ethernet interface
when not using auto-negotiation. To restore the default, use the no form of this command.
Syntax
speed {10 | 100 | 1000}
no speed
•
10—Configures the port to 10 Mbps.
•
100—Configures the port to 100 Mbps.
•
1000—Configures the port to 1000 Mbps.
Default Configuration
Maximum port capability.

User Guidelines
The command "no speed" in port-channel context returns each port in the port-channel to its
maximum capability.
Before attempting to force a particular duplex mode the port operating at 10/100 Mbps,
disable the auto-negotiation on that port.
