User Guidelines
If auto-send is enabled on an interface, the router only advertises the default route on the
interface, until a RIP message is received. When a RIP message is received, the complete RIP
information is sent.
Example
The following example automatically detects whether RIP information is required to be sent on IP
address 100.1.1.1.
Console(config)# interface ip 100.1.1.1
Console(config-ip)# rip auto-send
rip version
The rip version interface configuration command specifies a Routing Information Protocol (RIP)
version. To return to the default use the no form of this command.
Syntax
rip version {1 | 2}
no rip version

Use RIP Version 1 on the interface.

Use RIP Version 2 on the interface.
Default Configuration
RIP Version 1 is used on the interface.
