Use the front panel to direct controller operations. When your
controller is powered on, all the lights flash, indicating the controller
is performing self-diagnostic tests. The following messages appear
during this initialization period of approximately 90 seconds:
Accel-a-Graphix, INITIALIZING, and FIRST JOB (if the Initial Job
feature is enabled). When READY/IDLE appears in the display
window, the controller is ready to accept a job.

The Display Window

The display window on the left side of the front panel (fig. 5.1)
displays messages that indicate the controller status, and it displays
menu items.
Note: When the controller is printing a job, a number with a
"twiddle" (rotating |, /, and — characters) appears in the far
right end of the display window if there are enough free
character spaces. For example, you might see 5/ and then
5— on the display. The number is a count down to let you
know how much of the current job remains to be processed.
The twiddle indicates that a job is either being spooled to the
hard disk or despooled to a printer.

Front Panel Lights (LEDs)

The front panel features four LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes), which
indicate the controller's status (fig. 5.1). All these lights either flash
or come on during warm up while the controller automatically runs
self-diagnostic tests. The following list explains what each LED
indicates when it is on or blinking.

The Power LED is the top left light on the
display panel. It comes on when the
controller is powered on and stays on until
the controller is turned off or loses power.
