Using Printer Fonts

Your Macintosh XANTÉ Utilities disk includes the Downloader.
Use this program to download additional PostScript fonts to your
controller's memory or hard disk. This section covers downloading
fonts to both of these areas and listing the fonts in the controller.
Downloading to Controller Memory or the Hard
Disk
Fonts downloaded to the controller's memory only last through the
current power cycle. Fonts downloaded to the controller's hard disk
survive a power cycle. When downloaded, fonts are resident on the
controller for fast access.
Caution:
Downloading PostScript fonts to memory uses the
controller's virtual memory. If a document generates a
PostScript error after the fonts have been downloaded, it
may be due to insufficient memory. In this case, it may
be necessary to either download the font to a hard disk or
add more memory to the controller.
To download fonts to controller memory or an external hard disk
Note: If you download fonts to an optional hard disk, make sure
that disk was attached to your controller following the steps
in "Installing Hard Disk(s)" in chapter 2.
1.
Locate the Downloader utility and double-click the icon to
open the utility.
