The RAM Disk Menu

The RAM disk menu, MISC:RAMDISK, allows you to set aside a
section of the controller's RAM to be used as a read/write device.
You can configure RAM disk to store fonts. Access to a RAM disk is
faster than to a SCSI disk, however, all information in RAM is lost
when the controller is powered off.
The amount of RAM available through this menu is equal to the
amount of RAM in the controller minus the amount of RAM
required for the controller to run (a minimum of 26 MB). For
example, a controller with 64 MB of RAM would have 38 MB (64 -
26 = 38) available in 1 MB increments from 0 to 40. Selecting 0 is
the same as turning this feature off. The factory default is 2 MB.
Selections in this menu require the controller to be cycled (turned
off and on) before they take effect.

The Raster Mode Menu

The Raster Mode menu, MISC:RASTERMODE, allows you to select
the processing method used by the controller to send data to the printer.
Options are Smart, Quick, and Total. These options can ensure that
large or complex images are printed without interruption; while small or
less complex images can take advantage of faster processing time.
With the Smart option, the controller compares the time required to
process data to the time required to print the image. It does not send the
job to the printer until it has processed enough data to ensure that the job
can print without interruption. With the Quick option, the controller
processes two bands of data, then sends the job to the printer. With the
Total option, the controller processes all data for the image before
sending the job to the printer. The factory default is SMART.
