Print Quality

The Print Quality options can be set only through the PPD. Always
check the Print Quality mode. The eight options in the Print Quality
menu let you select the printing mode which best fits your quality
and speed needs. Options are Printer's default, Draft Mode, Normal
Mode, Quality Mode, Enhanced 4-Pass, Enhanced 3-Pass, Enhanced
2-pass, and Ink Saver Mode.
Note: Draft, normal, and quality modes work best for line and
solid light fill drawings; they are used for monochrome
printing. All eight modes can be used in color printing. The
three enhanced modes work best for continuous tone images
or ones with heavy fills.
Fig. 6.11 The Print Quality Options
Printer's Default—This option allows you to use the mode to which
the printer is set.
Draft Mode—This is the fastest mode for use when speed is more
important than quality. In monochrome printing, the printer assumes
all four ink cartridges are black and activates them simultaneously.
Normal Mode—This factory default mode provides the best choice
when both speed and quality are required. In monochrome printing,
the printer assumes all four ink cartridges are black and activates
them simultaneously.
