1. Remove everything except the controller from the shipping box.
2. Lift the controller out of the box (with the help of someone else
if necessary).

Installing Options

This section covers accessing the controller board and bays, adding
RAM upgrades and optional internal hard disks, and reassembling
the controller.
Your controller comes with 32 MB of standard RAM (Random
Access Memory) which can be upgraded to a maximum of 128 MB
using 16 or 32 MB SIMM (Single-In-Line Memory Module) RAM.
The standard 32 MB suffice for printing from one printer. If you plan
to print from multiple printers simultaneously, we recommend that
you add a minimum of 16 MB per each additional printer. RAM
upgrades speed the image processing and allow the controller to
handle larger, more complex graphics and text files with more
downloaded fonts.

Caution:
Static electricity can destroy circuit boards, such as your
controller board and SIMMs (RAM). Be sure to use
properly grounded anti-static equipment.

Accessing the Controller Board and Bays

To access your controller board
1.
Turn off your controller and disconnect the power cord and all
interface cables.
2.
Put on the anti-static device following the manufacturer's
directions.
3.
Remove the six screws securing the body case (fig. 2.2) using
the magnetized screwdriver.
