3. SAFETY WARNINGS
3.1 MODIFICATIONS NOT AUTHORIZED BY OLIVETTI
OLIVETTI brand products are renowned for their high reliability. This reliability is achieved
through high-quality design and a solid service network.
Product design is a highly complicated and delicate process where numerous mechanical,
physical, and electrical aspects have to be taken into consideration, with the aim of arriving at
proper tolerances and safety factors. For this reason, unauthorized modifications involve a high
risk of degradation in performance and safety. Such modifications are therefore strictly
prohibited. the points listed below are not exhaustive, but they illustrate the reasoning behind
this policy.
3.1.1 Actions requiring special attention
▪ Do not make any modifications to the product
unless otherwise instructed by OLI.
▪ Do not use any part not specified by OLI.
▪ Do not use any power cord or power plug not
specified by OLI.
▪ Use only the protective fuses specified by OLI.
Use of any type of fuse or related part not
specified by OLI makes safety devices
inoperative which may result in a fire from
high heat.
▪ Do not disable fuse functions or use a wire,
metal clip, solder, or other conductor in place
of the fuse.
Fire may result from high heat.
▪ Do not disable relay functions (for example,
inserting a piece of paper between relay
contacts to hamper circuit action.)
Fire may result from high heat.
