! Each PCU has three motors.
" The drum motor drives the drum. It controls no other component.
! The drum motor connects to the drum through a shaft and a coupling.
! During black-and-white copying and printing, only the black drum (K)
rotates. The other color drums (Y, M, C) do not rotate.

# There is no special tool to lock the drum shaft at the front end in order to remove
the drum motor.
# The straight line connection of the drum shaft and motor enables a precise drum
speed and rotation.
