7.6.1 Parameters monitoring

The picture shows parameters referred to APCV-TV operative modality
and they have the mere purpose of being an example and they do not
make any reference to real clinical cases.

Through the lighting bar indicator (with scale from – 20 to + 80

O ) which displays in real-time the airways pressure.

Through the numeric indication reporting the peak value
measured and reached by the airways during the ventilation
phase.
For a better detection of abnormalities on the
airways pressure, it is suggested to set the value
of: PAW HIGH is 10 cmH2O over peak pressure
reached by the patient and the PAW LOW value
at 5 cmH2O.
In such way any obstruction of patient airways or
any leak in patient circuit, it is probably
immediately detected by the ventilator.
It indicates the end expiration positive pressure: the measuring unit
is the cmH
O.

Through this value, the user can check if the ventilator is able to
reach and maintain the level of PEEP pressure set.
