Software Options and Configuration
Configuring the Harvest and Chase Volume (AutoPBSC
Procedures)
The default Harvest volume is 3 mL, and the default Chase volume is
7 mL. For more information and instructions on configuring these
volumes for the AutoPBSC procedure, see "Configuring the Harvest and
Chase Volumes" in Chapter 4 of the Cell Therapy Guide.
Enabling the High Flow Protocol (ELP Procedures)
Setting the High Flow protocol to "On" during ELP procedures helps
prevent RBC spillovers into the platelet collection chamber. For more
information and instructions on enabling this protocol, see "Enabling
the High Flow Protocol" in Chapter 2 of the Platelet Collection Guide.
Enabling the Centrifuge Step Down Option
(ELP Procedures)
Enabling the Centrifuge Step Down option can improve platelet yields.
For more information and instructions on configuring this option, see
"Enabling the Centrifuge Step Down Option" in Chapter 2 of the
Platelet Collection Guide.
Enabling the Single-Needle Option
The Single-Needle option comes installed but not enabled. You must
enable the Single-Needle option before you perform any Single-Needle
ELP, LRS, LRST, or TPE procedure. Once enabled, this option remains
enabled until disabled.
For instructions on enabling the Single-Needle option for TPE
procedures, see "Enabling the Single-Needle Option" in Chapter 2 of
the Therapeutic Apheresis Guide.
For instructions on enabling the Single-Needle option for ELP, LRS, and
LRST procedures, see "Enabling the Single-Needle Option" in
Chapter 2 of the Platelet Collection Guide.

Enabling the LeukoReduction System
Before you perform any LRS or LRST procedure, you must enable the
LeukoReduction System. For instructions, see "Enabling the
LeukoReduction System (LRS)" in Chapter 2 of the Platelet Collection
Guide.
Calculating the Yield Scaling Factor (YSF)
Use the YSF to align the Spectra system's yield prediction for a platelet
collection procedure with the cell counter in your laboratory. Leave the
YSF at 1.00 until you gather enough data to calculate a new YSF. For
more information and instructions, see "Changing the Yield Scaling
Factor" in Chapter 5 of the Platelet Collection Guide.

Donor/Patient Data Entry

You can enter donor/patient data either during or after Prime mode. (At
the end of Prime mode, the Spectra system prompts you to enter the
data.) You can change the data you entered during the Run mode if
necessary.
Entering Donor/Patient Data During Prime Mode
You usually enter donor/patient data after Prime mode is complete, but
you may enter it during Prime. After you select the disposable tubing set,
press MENU ON/OFF, then press 1 to select "Data Entry." For further
instructions, see the procedural guides.
