Turning on the system

Turn on the
FluoroMax
Turn the power switch to the ON
(1) position.

Turn on instrument
accessories.
Accessories include a temperature bath, MicroMax, etc.

Turn on all peripheral devices for the host PC.
Peripherals include any printers or plotters.

Start the host computer.

Click the FluorEssence™ icon on the Windows
The instrument initializes, then the FluorEssence window appears. If
there are any difficulties, see the troubleshooting chapter.
Warning:
When the xenon lamp
is ignited, a large voltage is ap-
plied across the lamp. There-
fore, never operate the lamp
with the cover removed. An ex-
tremely rare occurrence is the
explosion of the xenon lamp up-
on ignition. Therefore, take care
in case tiny lamp shards exit the
ventilation fans.
