9.3.2 Configuring the BGP4+ Preference

Setting the BGP4+ preference can affect route selection between BGP4+ and another routing
protocol.
Procedure
Step 1 Run:
system-view
The system view is displayed.
Step 2 Run:
bgp { as-number-plain | as-number-dot }
The BGP view is displayed.
Step 3 Run:
ipv6-family [ unicast ]
The BGP IPv6 unicast address family view is displayed.
Step 4 Run:
preference { external internal local | route-policy route-policy-name }
The BGP4+ preference is set.

9.3.3 Configuring BGP4+ Preferred Value for Routing Information
After the preferred value is configured for routing information, the route with the largest
preferred value is selected when multiple routes to the same destination exist in the BGP4+
routing table.
Procedure
Step 1 Run:
system-view
The system view is displayed.
Step 2 Run:
bgp { as-number-plain | as-number-dot }
The BGP view is displayed.
Step 3 Run:
ipv6-family [ unicast ]
The BGP IPv6 unicast address family view is displayed.

Using peer route-policy command to configure the preference of the BGP protocol on the peers is not
currently supported.
