A list that contains a group of rules that consist of rule { deny |
permit } statements. In firewall, ACL is applied to an interface of
a router. The router then decides which packets can be received or
be rejected. In QoS, ACL is used to classify traffic.
To record the network resources used by users.
A system ID assigned by the network manager. Each additional
system ID can generate up to 256 additional or extended LSP
fragments.
A logical set of network segments and devices. Areas are connected
through routers to form AS.
A router that can belong to more than two areas of which one area
must be a backbone area.
A router that exchanges routing information with other ASs.
A network set that uses the same routing policy and is managed by
the same technology administration department. Each AS has a
unique identifier that is an integer. The identifier is assigned by
IANA. An AS can be divided into areas.
An area that is responsible for routing between areas and forwarding
routing information of non-backbone areas.
A router with a minimum of one interface connecting to the
backbone area
