6.3 Interrupt Control Registers and Resources

The interrupt control registers (ICR00 to ICR15) exist within the interrupt controller, and correspond to all
resources with interrupt functions. The registers control the interrupt and extended intelligent I/O service

(EI OS).

n Function of the interrupt control register
The interrupt control register (ICR) has the following four functions.
• Setting of interrupt level of corresponding resource
• Selection of whether to perform normal interrupt or EI
• Selection of channel of EI
• Display of status of EI
As shown in Figures 6.2 and 6.3, some functions of the interrupt control register (ICR) are different at write
and read.
Note: Do not access the interrupt control register (ICR) using the read-modify-write family instruction
because it causes a malfunction.
