To run the tracert command from Windows

1. Click Start → Programs → Accessories → Command Prompt.
2. At the Command prompt, type the following command:

4. Type Exit to exit the Command Prompt window and return to Windows.

The arp command

The arp command displays and modifies the IP-to-physical address translation tables used by
Address Resolution Protocol (arp).

Arp command syntax

The arp command uses the following syntax:
arp -s inet_addr eth_addr [if_addr]

Specifies not to resolve addresses to hostnames.
Specifies the maximum number of hops to search for the target.
Specifies a loose source route along the host list.
Waits the number of milliseconds specified by the time-out for
each reply.
Shows the name of the target host.
Result: The Command Prompt window appears.
tracert [-d] [-h maximum_hops] [-j host_list] [-w timeout]
[target_name]
Example: tracert 200.286.0.32
Result: The system runs the tracert utility.
