The system modules PSM 510, DAM 510, and ACM 510 are mounted to a backplate located in the control cabinet. DC link and the
control voltage supply are integrated in the backplate. The 'click and lock' backplate concept offers easy mounting and installation.
The ISD 511 servo drives are self-contained distributed drives, where the drive electronics are housed together with the motor in the
same casing.
The ISD 511 servo drive comes with 2 hybrid connectors (M23) that connect power and communication signals from a hybrid cable.
The motion control is integrated into the servo drive so that movements depending on a master reference can be programmed and
take place independently. This reduces the required computing power of the central PLC and offers a highly flexible drive concept.
Danfoss offers libraries for various IEC 61131-3 programmable PLCs. Due to the standardized and certified fieldbus interfaces of the
devices, any PLC with an Ethernet POWERLINK

The ISD 511 servo drives cannot be used in servo systems from other manufacturers without changing the cabling infrastruc-
ture.

Drives from other manufacturers cannot be used in the ISD 511 system.

Only the components described in this manual can be fitted or installed. Third-party devices and equipment can only be
used in consultation with Danfoss.

For security reasons, do not connect the ISD 511 servo drive to the internet.

Only configure the ISD 511 using the specified HMI or the VLT

3.1.1 Application
The ISD 511 servo drive is a customized design for use in beverage labeling machines. The design of the flange and shaft is adapted
to be efficiently mounted in a roundtable in 2 ways:

Screwed from the bottom.
•
Screwed from the top.
3.2 VLT® Integrated Servo Drive ISD 511
3.2.1 Overview of the ISD 511 Servo Drive
ISD is the abbreviation of integrated servo drive, which combines compact drive electronics together with an integrated permanent
magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). This means that the entire power drive system consisting of motor, position sensor, and also
power and control electronics is integrated into 1 housing. Additional circuits, such as low-voltage supply, bus drivers, and STO are
implemented within the servo drive electronics.
All ISD 511 servo drives have 2 hybrid connectors (M23) that connect power and communication signals from a hybrid cable. LEDs
on the top of the ISD 511 servo drive show the current status. Data transfer takes place via Real-Time Ethernet.
The flange is customized for mounting into a roundtable for a labelling application and the motor shaft is customized for mounting
a turntable for picking up a bottle or similar beverage container. The shaft seal is designed for IP69K and protects the drive from
liquid intrusion.
