Field Name
Description
Prefix
Number that the dialed number (in addition to the country code
and area code) is matched against.
From a telephony point of view, in the United States the prefix is
the first three numbers in a 7-digit dial string (for example, in the
7-digit number 555-1212, 555 is the prefix.)
Matching the prefix is generally used for internal dialing within an
enterprise. This allows the actual numbers dialed to be limited to
the digits which come after those that have been matched. In the
case 7-digit number 555-1212, only the digits 1212 need to be
dialed.
Note: The number of digits entered for the prefix is flexible. If an
enterprise uses 5-digit extensions, then the first two numbers in
the dial string can be entered as the prefix for a 7-digit dial
number.
Cost*
Weighted cost for each call to the selected area or city code. This
can be monetary value, or a ratio as compared to other costs. For
