Polycom ReadiManager LX100 provides several important features to help monitor and
address problems with a resource's equipment:
Remote Alerts. Polycom ReadiManager LX100 monitors equipment on the
network and updates the database with information about alarm conditions, jitter,
and latency. In the Polycom ReadiManager LX100 database, essential equipment
can be alert-enabled, so that when communication with that equipment fails,
Polycom ReadiManager LX100 sends a remote alert to the resource facilitator, and
automatically logs a trouble ticket.
Pre-Conference Launch Check. 15 minutes before scheduled conferences start,
Polycom ReadiManager LX100 checks all equipment included in the conference.
If contact with any equipment fails, an email is sent to the facilitator.
Polycom ReadiManager LX100 includes a remote alert service that provides 24/7
monitoring of the Polycom ReadiManager LX100 network. Emails and pager alerts can
be sent when equipment does not respond. An Enable Alert checkbox in the Equipment
Information form lets you turn on and off the alert for each piece of equipment.
Polycom ReadiManager LX100 monitors the network and generates alerts based on
failure to communicate with endpoints, failure to launch conferences, or general
process failures. These alerts are sent to the email and email-pager addresses of
facilitators associated with the resource involved. If the resource is one that has been
directly scheduled for a conference, the person who scheduled the conference will
receive notification, because that person will receive a copy of the trouble ticket that is
automatically generated.
When you associate equipment with a resource, you can indicate whether to enable
alerts for that equipment. Doing so will result in an email being sent to the facilitator in
the event of a critical alarm on the device. (A critical alarm indicates that Polycom
ReadiManager LX100 cannot contact the equipment.)
It is not necessary to enable alerts for every piece of equipment that needs to function
in a conference. Network Aware Scheduler automatically checks each scheduled
endpoint fifteen minutes before the start of the conference, and sends an email to the
facilitator if it cannot make contact.
