WARNING: A T1100 AS chassis is redundantly powered from both A and B -48 VDC
buses. Ensure that both the circuit breaker supplying A power to a chassis and the
circuit breaker supplying B power to a T1100 AS chassis are turned OFF by measuring
the voltage with a VOM on the cable that connects the T1100 AS chassis to its breakers.
WARNING: Always wear an ESD wrist strap grounded to the bench or frame when
working on electronic components.
1. Ensure that the circuit breakers that will be connected to the replaced T1100 AS chassis are still
turned OFF.
To locate the circuit breakers supplying power to the T1100 AS chassis, refer to the system
interconnect diagram for the system type and/or read the labels on the breakers. To access the
circuit breakers on some frames, it may be necessary to remove the plastic covers on the front
of the breakers. If the covers are removed, to maintain NEBS compliance, make sure they are
replaced when the FRU replacement has been completed.
2. Remove the front door and any plastic panels from the rear of the frame.
3. From the front of the frame, extend the slide assemblies approximately 10 to 14 inches until
the detent latches on the rear of the slides engage.
DANGER: Moving a T1100 AS chassis requires two people. Each T1100 AS chassis
weighs approximately 30 kg (65 lbs) and may cause personnel injury or damage
to the internal components due to shock and vibration if not handled properly.
4. Lift the T1100 AS chassis and carefully insert the inner slide members into the middle slide
members in the frame.
