If the airbag control indicator - K75 - indicates a fault after as‐
sembly, the event memory must be queried ⇒ Vehicle diagnostic

Removing and installing side airbag

WARNING
♦ Observe the safety instructions for pyrotechnic compo‐
nents

Removing
– Remove front seat
⇒ "1.1 Removing and installing front seat", page 286
– Remove front seat backrest.
– Remove backrest cover
⇒ "1.3 Removing and installing the cover and the upholstery
of the front seat backrest", page 301
– Disconnect plug connection -5- for side airbag unit -4-.
– Remove screw -3- (9 Nm).
– Unclip catch -1- for side airbag -4- from the seat rest rack -2-.
– Remove the airbag unit -4- from the seat rest rack -2-.
