– Screw in screw - 1 - (5.2 Nm).
– Rotate the rear retaining clip -1- downwards by 90° -arrow-
and engage in the body.
– Press in the remaining retaining clips of the head airbag until
they audibly lock into place, beginning at the gas generator
towards the front and rear.
– Carry out a tensile test on the retaining clips and check them
to make sure they are locked completely.
– Mount connector on head airbag.
– Push connector in up to the stop until the plug lock engages.
– Check whether the anti-twist protection line (coloured longitu‐
dinal stripes on the airbag unit) is visible over the entire length
and is straight. This ensures that the airbag has not become
twisted.
– Further installation occurs in reverse order.
WARNING
Observe work procedure for connecting the battery ⇒ Electri‐
cal system; Rep. gr. 27 ; Disconnecting and re-connecting the
battery .
Note
If the airbag control indicator - K75 - indicates a fault after as‐
sembly, the event memory must be queried ⇒ Vehicle diagnostic
tester.
