♦ Observe the safety instructions for pyrotechnic compo‐
nents

bag

nents

– Turn off the ignition and disconnect the battery earth strap ⇒
Electrical System ; Rep. gr. 27 ; Disconnecting and recon‐
necting the battery .
– Lower the moulded headliner (not necessary to remove from
the vehicle)
⇒ "7.1 Removing and installing moulded headliner",
page 282 .
– Remove clips -4- from the head airbag.
– Use e.g. a set of pointed pliers for unclipping. Insert the pliers
-5- into openings -1 and 2-. Press gently until the catches -3-
are clear.
– Slide the clips out of the body.
