MAINTENANCE PROCEDURE

Remove bolts (1) (6 pieces) and to remove cover (2).
5.
Remove the four nuts (3) and the washers, then remove the protection cover (4).
Use a 7 mm wrench.
6.
Apply the cleaning and contact dressing spray on the
brushes (5) and relative contacts.
7.
Fit the cover (4), positioning it correctly on the tie-rods (6)
and making sure the gasket (7) is firmly in its seat.
8.
Fit the washers and tighten the four nuts (3) to no more
than 4 Nm.
9.
Install cover (2) with bolt (1).
METHOD FOR CHECKING THE BRAKE ACCUMULATOR PRECHARGE PRES-
SURE
The accumulator is charged with high-pressure nitrogen gas, so mistaken operation may cause an ex-
plosion, which will lead to serious injury or death or damage. When handling, always observe the fol-
lowing.
• The pressure in the hydraulic circuit cannot be completely removed. When removing the hydraulic
equipment, do not stand in the direction that the oil spurts out when performing the operation. In
addition, loosen the bolts slowly when performing the operation.
• Do not disassemble.
• Do not bring it near flame or dispose of it in fire.
• Do not perform drilling, welding or flame-cutting.
• Do not hit or roll it, or subject it to any impact.
• When disposing of it, the gas must be released. Ask your Komatsu distributor for replacement of
the belt.
The low-pressure of nitrogen gas (precharge pressure) in the accumulator may cause reduction or lack
of braking and may cause serious injury and even death.
Ask your Komatsu distributor for the checking.
