METHOD FOR CHECKING WATER PUMP

Check for play of the pulley, oil leakage, water leakage, and clogging of weep hole (drain hole). If anything ab-
normal is found, ask your Komatsu distributor for disassembly and repair or replacement.

METHOD FOR REPLACING ACCUMULATORS (FOR CONTROL CIRCUIT)

The accumulators are charged with high-pressure nitrogen gas, so mistaken operation may cause an
explosion, which will lead to serious injury or death or damage. When handling, always observe the fol-
lowing.
• The pressure in the hydraulic circuit cannot be completely removed. When removing the hydraulic
equipment, do not stand in the direction that the oil spurts out when performing the operation. In
addition, loosen the bolts slowly when performing the operation.
• Do not disassemble.
• Do not bring them near flame or dispose of them in fire.
• Do not perform drilling, welding or flame-cutting.
• Do not hit or roll them, or subject them to any impact.
• When disposing it, the gas must be released. Ask your Komatsu distributor for replacement of the
belt.
NOTICE
If the nitrogen gas charge pressure in the accumulators is low and operations are continued, it becomes
impossible to release the remaining pressure inside the hydraulic circuit if a failure occurs on the ma-
chine.
Replace the accumulators every 2 years or every 4000 hours, whichever comes sooner.
Ask your Komatsu distributor for replacement.
