MAINTENANCE
Do not use or charge the battery if the battery charge indicator is bright white or, if the battery does
not have an indicator, if the level of the electrolyte is below the LOWER line (minimum level). This
may cause an explosion.
The battery generates flammable gas and there is a danger of explosion. Do not bring any open
flame near the battery.
Battery electrolyte is dangerous object. If it should get into your eyes or on your skin, wash it off
with large amounts of fresh water and see a doctor immediately.
NOTICE
Do not add distilled water to the batter beyond the UPPER LEVEL line. If the electrolyte level is too
high, it may leak and cause damage to the paint surface or corrode other parts.
When adding purified water in cold weather, add it before starting operations in the morning to pre-
vent the purified water from freezing.
Install the rubber cover to prevent a fire while taking care not to roll it up.
If the rubber cover rolls up and blocks the fuel cooler, the fuel cooler may overheat. Put the rubber
cover under the fuel cooler.
If the battery is equipped with charge indicator
A visual gauge indicates the battery charge level in different color.
1.
Open the battery inspection cover.
2.
Roll up rubber cover (1) installed above the battery.
3.
Clean the area around the optical indicator with a damp
cloth.
4.
Check the colour of the optical indicator.
Color green: the charge is optimal
Dark grey colour: the battery needs charging
Bright white colour: the battery needs changing.
5.
After carrying out the required operations, put back the
rubber cover (1) in its housing.
If it is possible to check electrolyte level from side of battery
If it is possible to check the electrolyte level from the side of the battery, check as follows.
If the battery is wiped with a dry cloth, static electricity may cause a fire or explosion.
