The following pages give an explanation of the warn-
ing, caution, and service instruction plates and
decals attached to the truck. The plates and decals
listed here are typical of this Komatsu model, but
because of customer options, individual trucks may
have plates and decals that are different from those
shown here.
The plates and decals must be kept clean and legi-
ble. If any decal or plate becomes illegible or dam-
aged, it must be replaced with a new one.
A warning decal surrounds the key switch located to
the right of the steering column on the instrument
panel. The warning stresses the importance of read-
ing the operator's manual before operation.
A grade/speed retard chart is located on the left front
post of the operator's cab and provides the recom-
mended MAXIMUM speeds to be used when
descending various grades with a loaded truck.
Always refer to the decal in operator's cab. This
decal may change with optional truck equipment
such as: wheel motor drive train ratios, retarder grids,
tire sizes, etc.
A plate attached to the right rear corner of the
cab states the Rollover Protective Structure
(ROPS) and Falling Object Protective Structure
(FOPS)
meets
various
requirements.
! WARNING! Do not make modifications to
this structure, or attempt to repair damage
without written approval from Komatsu.
Unauthorized repairs will void certification.
