Starting the engine

NOTE: The instruments represented may not exactly cor-
respond to the instruments on your machine.
To correctly perform the starting procedure, some precau-
tions are necessary.
Check that the seat (1) is properly locked in the loader
attachment working position.
Adjust the seat and fasten the seat belt.
Check that the parking brake switch (2) is engaged.
Check that the engine accelerator knob is in low idle po-
sition.
Check that the direction-of-travel lever (3) is in neutral po-
sition.
NOTE: If this is not done, the audible warning device will
sound and it will be impossible to start the engine.
Check that the gearshift lever (4) is in neutral position
(Power-Shuttle).
Turn the starter switch key to the ON position. All lamps
turn on and the instrument buzzer sound for 5 s. After-
wards, the lamps turn off and only lamp (5) remains on.
The gauges (6) and (7) set to position.
Press the accelerator pedal down about a quarter of the
way.
Turn the key to the starting position. Release the key as
soon as the engine starts. If the engine stops, wait about
one minute before starting the operation again.
NOTICE: Do not operate the starter motor for more than
30 s at a time. Do not operate the starter motor when the
engine is running.
When the engine is running, check the indicators and in-
dicator lamps to make sure that all systems are operating
correctly.
Using the accelerator pedal, run the engine at half speed
until it has reached normal operating temperature.
NOTE: Do not run the engine at idle speed for too long,
since this may cause the formation of deposits in the oil.
Whenever conditions of use and safety allow it, run the
engine at maximum speed.
