Every 50 hours

Fuel pre-filter - draining condensation

Move the machine to a level and firm ground.
Lower the loader attachment to the ground.
Place the backhoe attachment in the road travel position.
Place the direction-of-travel lever and gearshift lever in
neutral position.
Immobilize the machine by means of the parking brake.
Stop the engine and remove the starter switch key.
Wait the time necessary to allow the engine and the fuel
system to cool down.
Place a container under the filter.
ATTENTION: Prevent damages to the fuel high-pressure
lines, as a fuel release could be very dangerous.
Open the engine compartment hood and drain the water
and sediments from the fuel filter (1) through the draining
valve (2).
From the bottom of the filter, remove the con-
nector (3).
Install a drain pipe (about 1 m long 3.2 ft) on
the draining valve and put the other and left of
the pipe into the container.
With engine inoperative, loosen the draining
valve about two turns and make flows the pos-
sible water and sediment, until only clean fuel
runs out.
Tighten the draining valve without over tighen-
ing.
If necessary bleed air from filter (see
page 7-81 )
NOTE: The draining interval can be increased or de-
creased, depending on the presence of water and the
quantity of fuel
