Configuring the system for DICOM transfer

To configure the system for DICOM transfer, you do the following tasks (typically completed by a network
administrator or PACS manager):
1 Back up default DICOM configuration settings to a USB memory stick kept in a secure location. You can
revert to the default settings if necessary. See
page 3-12.
2 Connect to the network. See

4 Associate devices with locations. See

Connecting to the network

Before configuring the system for DICOM transfer, you must connect to the network. You can connect by
Ethernet or wirelessly.
To connect to the network by Ethernet
The SonoSite X-Porte ultrasound system must be connected to a standard Ethernet 10/100/1000 network.
Devices connected to the system's Ethernet port must comply with the IEC 60601-1 or IEC 60950
standards.
