2D
2D is the system's default imaging mode. The system displays echoes in two-dimensional view by assigning
a brightness level based on the echo signal amplitude. To achieve the best possible image quality, properly
adjust the gain, depth settings, viewing angle, exam type, and display brightness. Also, select an
optimization setting that best matches your needs.
To scan in 2D
1 Do one of the following:
Tap 2D.
In Transducers & Exams, tap SCAN.

M Mode

Motion mode (M Mode) is an extension of 2D. It provides a trace of the 2D image displayed over time. A
single beam of ultrasound is transmitted, and reflected signals are displayed as dots of varying intensities,
creating lines across the screen.
When you tap M Mode, the M-line appears. You can drag the M-line to the area of interest before you
display the M Mode sweep.
To scan in M Mode
1 Tap M Mode.
The M-line appears.
2 Drag the M-line to the desired position.
3 To display the M Mode sweep, do the following:
a Adjust the depth as needed. See
b Tap Start or Update.
