The PTX10008 cooling system components work together to keep all components within the acceptable
temperature range. If the maximum temperature specification is exceeded and the system cannot be
adequately cooled, the Routing and Control Board shuts down some or all of the hardware components.

The cooling system in a PTX10008 chassis consists of dual fan trays with matching dual fan tray controllers.
Two fan tray models and their associated fan tray controllers are available. All models are hot-insertable
and hot-removable. See
The JNP10008-FAN2 and JNP10008-FAN2-CTRL are optimized to work best in the enhanced chassis,
but are backwards compatible to work in the standard chassis. To determine which chassis you have, see
"Status Panel" on page
42.
Fan Trays
All fan trays are hot-insertable and hot-removable field replaceable units (FRUs). Each fan tray contains
11 fans, a non-removable control board, and LEDs.
