Displays a process summary.

i [processID]

Use this command to display information about all of the processes or about a specific process if a

process ID is supplied. One line is displayed per process. Fields displayed with this commands include

those shown in the table.

i Command Field Description

Process flags:

FORKNOEXEC 040 forked but did not exec

Process state codes:

D uninterruptible sleep (usually IO)

R runable (on run queue)

T traced or stopped

Z a defunct ("zombie") process

The effective user ID number of the process

The process ID of the process

The process ID of the parent process

Processor utilization for scheduling

Priority number of the process; higher numbers mean lower

Nice value used in priority computation

Memory address of the process

The total size of the process in virtual memory, in pages

001 print alignment warning messages

002 being created

004 getting shut down

010 set if ptrace (0) has been called

020 tracing system calls

100 used super-user privileges

200 dumped core

400 killed by a signal
