Setting Up the Network Environment
Scanner IP Address
This is the IP address of this scan-
ner on the network. It is essential
that the IP address be entered.
S e t t h e a d d r e s s a s f o l l o w s :
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (xxx: for any nu-
merical value from 0–255)
Note
Do not assign the same IP ad-
dress to two or more machines
on the same network. If two or
more machines on the network
have the same IP address, the
machine will not work. To con-
firm the address, contact the
network administrator.
Subnet Mask
This sets a part of the IP address as
the network address. Use a subnet
mask if the network uses subnets.
Set the mask values as follows:
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (xxx: for any nu-
merical value from 0–255)
Note
If you do not know the mask
values, use the default setting.
Gateway Address
This is the address of the router or
host computer used as the gate-
way. Set it up if you want to use
the machine from a client in a dif-
ferent network. Set the mask val-
ues as follows: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
(xxx: for any numerical value from
0–255)
Note
If you do not know the gateway
address, use the default setting.
