C. ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
4.35 The equipment chassis and the station instruments require the following environmental
conditions:
Table 2-3.
Temperature (Chassis)
Temperature (Station Instruments)
Relative Humidity (Non-Condensing)
Altitude
NOTE:
installing the chassis and station instruments, allow a sufficient margin for error in case of air
conditioning failure, routine maintenance, plant shutdown, etc. As a general guideline, if the
conditions are suitable for office personnel, they are also suitable for all equipment and station
instrument operation. A properly controlled environment helps to extend the operating life of the
equipment.
D. SYSTEM POWER SUPPLY UNIT
4.36 The power supply unit provides power to all of the circuit cards and stations. It must
have an isolated, dedicated, AC outlet of 100-125 VAC, 50-63 Hz, single-phase commercial
power source with the appropriate amperage circuit (see the Power Calculator table on
23). For details, see the first NOTE on
is installed, all of the power supplies should be plugged into a single power strip that is con-
nected to the isolated, dedicated outlet.
Power Supply – 4 Amp
4.37 The 4-amp system power supply unit – part no. 550.0121 [PS2747 in Europe] is
installed in the far left slot of the equipment chassis.
4.38 Located on the front side of the power supply unit are the AC power cable connector,
the ON/OFF power switch, three LED voltage indicators, and four voltage test points. During
normal system operation, all three LEDs (+5V, -5V, and +24V) should be lit. If any of the
LEDs are blinking or are unlit, the power supply is defective and the entire unit must be
replaced.
4.39 Each power supply unit has one, 250V, 5A fuse. (This fuse may not be replaced in the
field. If the fuse is blown, return the entire power supply unit for repair.) Each unit's maximum
power outputs are +24VDC, 4A; +5VDC, 6A; and -5VDC, 0.5A.
4.40 Up to two, 16-Port Digital Keyset Cards (DKSC-16s) can be installed in chassis
equipped with this 4-amp power supply, depending on the number and variety of other circuit
cards to be installed. If necessary, use the following chart to determine how many cards can be
installed, while staying within the 4-amp limit.
