14.33 Use the Configuration Utility (avdapConfig.exe in the avdap directory) to program the
necessary fields, as described in the following topics:
14.34 Each of these tabs are described in detail on the following pages.
14.35 IP Address Tab: The phone system normally uses a serial link (RS232 link) to estab-
lish the ASAI connection between Voice Mail and Call Processing. With the Call Processing
Card (CPC) or Call Processing (CP) Server CPU, Voice Processing has the capability to estab-
lish the ASAI connection through a TCP/IP socket for voice mail.
14.36 This feature does not require any premium features. However, only the CPC and CP
Server can use the socket connection. The CPC/CP Server and the Voice Mail must be able to
communicate with each other across a LAN. It is also possible to connect the two directly
together using a standard Ethernet cross-connect cable similar to the one provided with the
CPC or CPU.
14.37 These fields are used by Voice Processing to communicate through TCP/IP sockets:

AVDAP IP Address: Specifies the IP address that Voice Processing uses to communi-
cate with the LAN. Voice Processing uses it to listen for remote console connection
(e.g., AVDAPMON), CP ASAI connection, and TCP/IP Networking messages. This
parameter is required, and has no default. Select from the drop-down list, which lists all
the IP Addresses installed on the Voice Processing PC.
Remote Console Port: Specifies the socket number that AVDAPMON uses to talk to
Voice Processing. The default value is 4444.
IP for ASAI Connection: Uses IP to connect to Call Processing, check this option, and
program the following two fields below. If this option is not checked, Voice Processing
uses the COM Port (specified in COM Port Tab) to communicate with Call Processing.
At default, it is not enabled.
