12. UPLOADING SOFTWARE

12.1 The Board Utility program, supplied with the software can be used for loading software
on the CPC, CPU, T1/E1/PRI cards, BRS/BRU cards, and IP devices.

Ensure that the programming PC is equipped with the DB Programming software. (See
page 6-17
in PROGRAMMING for details.)
Make the RS232 connection between the circuit card and the programming PC, as fol-
lows. The necessary connectors can be purchased separately or in the Universal RS232
Kit (part number 828.1282).
For CPC, CPU, and T1/E1/PRI cards:
Attach one end of an 8-wire reversing mod-to-mod line cord to the circuit card.

CPC or CPU: Use the top RS232 port (labeled CPU SERIAL PORT 1) on
the CPC or CPU card. See
the serial ports.
T1/E1/PRI: Use the T1/E1/PRI serial port jack.
Attach the other end of the line cord to a DB9F-to-8P/8C modular adapter with the

proper flow control. (This application does not require flow control unless the bps
rate exceeds 9600.)
If the PC does not have an available DB9M COM port but does have an available

DB25M COM port, attach the DB9M-to-DB25F converter to the DB9F end of the
modular adapter.
Connect the cable to the appropriate COM port on the programming PC.

Use either 804.2545 With Hardware Flow Control
or 804.2420 Without Hardware Flow Control
For IPC/IPRC/IPRC-Ds:
Connect one end of the Ethernet/10Base-T/LAN cable to the RJ45 connector
