MANUAL VERSION 11.0 – May 2008
If not already installed, attach one end of the PCDPM-to-keyset interface cable to the
connector on the back of the PCDPM.
NOTE:
If installing the PCDPM on an older-style digital phone equipped with red
LEDs only, use the appropriate end of the new PCDPM to old keyset interface cable
(part no. 813.1633). Note that the connector is keyed so that it can only be installed one
way.
If installing the PCDPM on one of the newer-style digital phones equipped with
both red and green LEDs, use the appropriate end of the new PCDPM to new keyset
interface cable (part no. 813.1632). Pin 1 of the cable (indicated by the stripe on the
edge of the cable) must correspond to pin 1 on the KEYSET connector (indicated by the
silkscreen on the PCDPM). Note that the connector is keyed so that it can only be
installed one way.
Plug the free end of the PCDPM-to-keyset interface cable into connector J3 on the
phone control board (where the plastic knockout was previously removed).
NOTE:
Use a pencil (eraser end) or other suitable rod-like instrument to press each
end of the cable connector into connector J3. Apply pressure, one end at a time, until
the connector clicks securely into place.
Depending on the PCDPM's intended use, do one of the following:
To connect to a DSS/BLF:
Attach one end of the DSS-to-DSS interface cable (part no. 813.1519; included
with the DSS/BLF Unit) to the RS-232 connector (J2) on the PCDPM (see
3-86). (The other end of the cable is attached to the DSS/BLF Unit after it is
installed.) If using an older PCDPM (part no. 550.3014), plug the main AC trans-
former unit into an available AC power source. DO NOT use the outlet for the
equipment chassis. (Newer PCDPMs do not require an external AC power
source.)
NOTE:
Pin 1 of the cable (indicated by the arrow on the connector) must corre-
spond to pin 1 on the RS-232 connector (indicated by the silkscreen on the
PCDPM). Also, note that the PCDPM-to-DSS interface cable (part no. 813.1595;
included with the DSS/BLF Unit) is not used with the new model PCDPM; use the
DSS-to-DSS interface cable instead.
To connect to a PC/output device:
Attach the appropriate end of the new PCDPM-to-RS-232 interface cable (part no.
813.1631) to the RS-232 connector (J2) on the PCDPM. (The other end of the
cable is attached to the PC or output device after it is installed.) For complete RS-
232 cable pinout requirements, see the information beginning on
NOTE:
Pin 1 of the cable (indicated by the arrow on the connector) must corre-
spond to pin 1 on the RS-232 connector (indicated by the silkscreen on the
PCDPM).
