10.88 If desired, additional Digital Signal Processor (DSP) resources (for DTMF receivers,
conferencing circuits, Caller ID [CLIP] receivers, Caller ID [CLIP] transmitters, and shared
speakerphones) can be added to the system by installing one or more Options Cards (OPCs) as
described below. See
10.89 Each Options Card (OPC) is equipped with the two ROMs (from kit part no. 828.1279)
that allow the card to work with version 2 or later system software. In addition, the part num-
bers of the two ROMs in the kit have been changed from 827.8078 (U3) and 827.8073 (U29)
to 827.8590 and 827.8599 respectively. See SPECIFICATIONS,

power must be turned OFF to prevent damage to the card. All other cards can be inserted or
removed with power ON.

Check to see that all components on the card are seated securely in their sockets and
that no pins are bent.
Install the OPCs one at a time in any unused card slots. The component sides of the
OPCs must face right.
NOTE:
In tri-/quad-chassis installations where the third (slave) chassis is located away
from the first (master) chassis, be sure to install the OPC in the master dual-chassis if it
is used to provide additional Voice Processing channels.
After installing the OPC, the night transfer relay equipment, output device, Voice Pro-
cessing PC port, etc. may be connected to the card at any time.
