LOOP/GROUND START OR LOOP START CARD (LGC/LSC, LGC-D/LSC-D)
With a European system, new Loop Start Cards (LSC – part no. 552.2340) and LSC Daugh-
ter Cards (LSC-D – part no. 552.2341) have been modified to meet a regulatory compliance
requirement for EU Telco Directive 99/05/EEC. However, these new cards cannot be paired
with older LSC/LSC-D cards due to mechanical interference with some of the components
between the new and old cards. More specifically, new LSC-D revision level cards (artwork
version 826.5422-5) only work with new LSC revision level cards (artwork version 826.5421-
5), they cannot be used with earlier artwork version LSCs. Additionally, new LSC revision
level cards (artwork version 826.5421-5) only work with new LSC-D revision level cards (art-
work version 826.5422-5); they cannot be used with earlier artwork version LSC-Ds.

LSC-Ds cannot be installed on LGCs.
Install the LGCs and LSCs one at a time in the slots to be used for trunk connections.

The component sides of the LGC/LSCs must face right. Any type of card may be
installed in any of the first seven slots (in any chassis), and slots may be skipped, if
desired.
