11. ATM SWITCH INSTALLATION

11.1 The ATM system configuration builds upon the dual-chassis configuration of the cur-
rent phone systems. With the ATM Switch serving as the backbone, up to four, dual-chassis
systems can be interconnected to create a high-capacity system. Each system chassis (or set of
chassis) is then controlled by a centralized Call Processing (CP) Server, which also connects
directly to the ATM Switch (see

A. UNPACK THE SWITCH
11.2 When you receive the ATM Switch, it should already be configured and contain the
required cards. Before installation, unpack the Switch and make sure the applicable cards are
properly seated according to the specifications in the manual included with the switch.
B. DEFAULT THE ATM SWITCH
